I just got done adding a bunch of sites as authentication sources, and therefore I made it required to have a login to post comments. That said, the login doesn’t have to be with the blog itself anymore, because you can use many different social media sites to authenticate with GeekPowers.com now!
I added a ton, so hopefully your favorite is listed. Please, anyone is welcome to comment, and I welcome feedback of all kinds!
I also added a new background to the site that I made from a cheeky unit test. I figured it was better than a plain background, and it’s real code. I had to tweak a lot of the styles and images to look good with the dark background, so hopefully it all works. If you notice something wrong, please let me know!
I just got around to updating wordpress to 3.0, and today I login to find a 3.1 update! This one was even easier with php safe mode turned off. I just clicked a button, and boom… WordPress 3.1.
I like the new panel at the top of the page that shows up when I’m logged in. This version seems a lot more streamlined in general, but it still has a similar look and feel.
Just painlessly upgraded my WordPress install to the latest. Good stuff… nice and easy (manual install).
So it wasn’t quite as painless as I had initially thought. Apparently PHP safe mode wreaks havoc on a wordpress install, so that had to be disabled. I have been inundated with spam comments for the last few days because my addons weren’t working right. Now everything should be back to normal though and I shouldn’t have to mark so much as spam!
